    How to Forward Your Vodafone Calls to Your AI Receptionist — Permanently

    You want your AI to answer every call you miss — permanently, at the network level, so it works no matter what phone you're using. This guide shows you how to set it up on Vodafone Australia.

    We'll cover three methods: the My Vodafone app, the Vodafone online portal, and calling Vodafone support. Once configured, forwarding stays active even if you change phones or reset your device.

    Note: Vodafone Australia is now part of TPG Telecom (merged in 2020). The Vodafone brand, app, and support channels still exist and work exactly the same way.

    Which Type of Forwarding Do You Need?

    Vodafone supports four forwarding types:

    Forward When No Answer ★ Recommended

    Phone rings first. If you don't pick up within 15–25 seconds, the call goes to TransferToAI. Best for most tradies.

    Forward When Busy

    Already talking? The next caller goes to TransferToAI instead of getting the engaged tone.

    Forward When Unreachable

    Phone off, flat battery, or no signal on site? Calls go straight to TransferToAI.

    Forward All Calls

    Every call goes straight to the AI. Phone doesn't ring. Great for after-hours, holidays, or full-time AI reception.

    Method 1: My Vodafone App (Easiest)

    The My Vodafone app is free and gives you direct control over your call forwarding settings.

    Open the My Vodafone App

    Download My Vodafone from the App Store or Google Play. Log in with your Vodafone account details.

    Navigate to Account Settings

    Go to AccountCall Settings or Manage Services. Select your mobile number.

    Find Call Forwarding

    Look for Call Forwarding, Divert Calls, or Call Management. Tap in to see the options.

    Enter Your TransferToAI Number

    Enable No Answer, Busy, and Unreachable forwarding. Enter your TransferToAI number for each.

    Important

    Use the full number with country code: +61 4XX XXX XXX. Find your TransferToAI number in your dashboard under Settings.

    Save and Test

    Save your settings. Call your own number from another phone, let it ring, and confirm TransferToAI picks up.

    Method 2: Vodafone Online Portal

    Prefer a computer? Log in to the Vodafone website and manage forwarding there.

    3. 3Navigate to Call SettingsCall Forwarding.
    4. 4Enable No Answer, Busy, and Unreachable.

    Method 3: Call Vodafone and Get Them to Do It

    What to say

    "I want to set up call forwarding. When I don't answer, when my line is busy, and when my phone is off, I need calls forwarded to [your TransferToAI number]."

    Quick Alternative: Dialer Codes

    For mobile only, you can dial these standard GSM codes directly. They configure forwarding at the Vodafone network level — it persists across phones and resets.

    Replace NUMBER with your TransferToAI number (e.g. +61480XXXXXX).

    Dial each code and press Call. You'll hear a confirmation tone or see a success popup.

    How to Turn Off Forwarding

    Reverse the process using any method:

    • My Vodafone app — toggle each forwarding type off.
    • Online portal — disable forwarding from my.vodafone.com.au.
    • Call Vodafone — ask them to remove all forwarding.
    • Dialer code — dial ##002# to cancel ALL forwarding at once.

    Troubleshooting

    ❌ Calls going to Vodafone voicemail instead

    Vodafone voicemail can intercept calls before your forwarding kicks in. Disable voicemail first by calling 1555 and asking them to turn off voicemail on your number. Then re-set your forwarding. Or dial ##002# to clear everything and start fresh.

    ❌ "Call Forwarding Not Available"

    Some Vodafone prepaid or older plans need the forwarding feature enabled. Call 1555 and ask them to activate it. It's free on most plans.

    ❌ Forwarding not working after setup

    Check the number format includes +61. Restart your phone after setting up forwarding. Allow a few minutes for the network to register the change.

    ❌ Can't find call forwarding in the app

    Update the My Vodafone app to the latest version. If it still doesn't show, use the dialer codes as an alternative or call 1555 to have support configure it for you.
